For new courses:
- Instructor requests course (through online request form)
- Course information entered into FileMaker Database
- ISIS Term
- Subject
- Catalog #
- Section
- Course #
- Course Description
- Instructor name and username
- FileMaker generates Blackboard CourseID and Course Name
- Generated CourseID submitted to Registrar’s office to get “Flagged” in ISIS for Blackboard Roster Extract.
- Registrar’s Office verifies that the correct course information was requested. If not, we verify in ISIS the correct information and re-submit.
- After CourseID has been verified and “flagged”, course is created using the information in Step #3.
- Instructor and Designers added to course.
- FileMaker generates an email to Recipients listed in Step #7.
- Change “Flag Status” in FileMaker to be “Completed [Date]”
- Generate extract of all “flagged” courses for upcoming term
- Import that list into FileMaker, and run a comparison of “Pre-Flagged” courses to previously offered courses.
- If the same instructor is listed, make note of previous CourseID to use as the “Initial Course Content” for the new course shell.
- Change “Flag Status” field to say “Verified [Date]”
- Determine cross-listing status, and verify (or flag) any other required sections.
- Migrate the course content from originating system and create the courses
- Instructor and Designers added to course.
- FileMaker generates an email to Recipients listed in Step #7.
- Change “Flag Status” in FileMaker to be “Completed [Date]”
