Hi, Chris.
Thanks a lot for your excellent presentations at BbWorld; I think they were some of the best ones there.
A question I have is: Do you know of a way to update a student’s enrollment within a merged course via SIS framework integration?
For example, we have Parent_Course with two children, Child_1 and Child_2. A student is enrolled in Child_1 but then our SIS says they should be enrolled in Child_2, sometimes without first receiving a drop request.
Ordinarily, I would simply disable the student in Child_1 then enroll them in Child_2, but this doesn’t seem ideal since we don’t always receive the drop first.
Also, it appears that Learn will enroll a student in multiple child sections. Even though this will raise an error in the integration log, the course_users table still shows them as enrolled, and then it just gets messy from there.
I’ve looked a bit at the SYNC_MASTER_COURSE_USER procedure and considered doing this programmatically, but first I would like to be sure there isn’t a better, easier way.
Morgan,Prior to SP12, it was difficult, since they were disabled when the sections switched. Things are much better in SP12 and above. Which SP are you using?
